Colorado Street BridgeAbout this guide

About this guide

I’m Christopher Clark, a longtime Pasadena resident and registered nurse with a background in urgent care, emergency care, and pediatric and adult trauma.

I have followed and researched the project since 2021. I wanted to understand why it was taking so long, so I began reading public comments, watching presentations, and going back through earlier meetings. As I continued following the project, I grew frustrated hearing the same questions come up repeatedly, sometimes from people who had participated in the earlier discussions. I wanted to understand what had already been considered, what remained unresolved, and how the decisions fit together.

I research and maintain this independent guide to Pasadena’s effort to develop a permanent suicide prevention barrier for the Colorado Street Bridge. I run and fund the site myself and don’t represent the City or an organization involved in the project. I built it to help readers follow the decisions, alternatives, and schedule, and check the supporting records for themselves. The website brings together the paper, City reports, meeting minutes, presentations, and recordings.

Sources and checks

I include information that supports my conclusions and information that challenges them. Each entry links to its sources and explains where the wording came from. Notes say when I checked the words against a recording and point out anything missing or unclear. Recording times help you find the discussion but may not be exact.
